Unit 2 "CLIMATES AND RIVERS OF EUROPE” En esta unidad conoceremos los ríos de Europa y sus vertientes; los climas y la vegetación de Europa. En esta ficha se recoge el vocabulario y las estructuras que el alumnado debe aprender junto con unos enlaces de vídeos que serán de utilidad para repasar los contenidos estudiados.

STRUCTURES
* Europe is located between the temperature zone and the cold zone of the Earth.  (Europa se encuentra entre la zona cálida y la zona fría de la Tierra). * In Europe, the following temperate climate can be found: Oceanic climate; Mediterranean climate; Continental climate. (En Europa se pueden encontrar los siguientes climas templados: oceánico, mediterráneo y continental). * There are two types of cold climates: Polar climate and mountain climate. (Hay dos tipos de climas fríos: clima polar y de montaña). * In areas with an Oceanic climate, there are meadows and forests with beech and oak trees. (En áreas con clima oceánico hay prados y bosques con hayas y robles). * In areas with Mediterranean climate, there are forests with holm oak, cork oaks and bushes, such as rockrose and rosemary. (En áreas con clima clima mediterráneo hay bosques de encinas, alcornoques y arbustos como la jara y el romero). * In areas with an Continental climate, there are forests with firs and pines (taigas) and plains with steppes. (En áreas con clima continental bosques con abetos y pinos (taigas) y llanuras con estepas). * In areas with a Polar climate, there are mosses, lichens and small shrubs (tundra). (En áreas con clima polar hay musgos, líquenes y pequeños arbustos (tundra)). * Most rivers in Europe are relatively long and have steady flow. This make them navigable by boat. (La mayoría de los ríos en Europa son bastante largos y tienen un caudal regular. Esto los hace navegables ). * European rivers can be grouped into five watersheds: the Atlantic watershed, the Arctic watershed, the Mediterranean watershed, the Black Sea watershed and the Caspian Sea watershed. (Los ríos europeos se pueden agrupar en cinco vertientes: atlántica, ártica, mediterránea, del mar Negro y del mar Caspio).
