AIR AND ATMOSPHERE

Unit 3 "AIR” En esta unidad estudiaremos la composición del aire y sus propiedades; la atmósfera, us capas y su función; el tiempo atmosférico y sus elementos principales. En esta ficha se recoge el vocabulario y las estructuras que el alumnado debe aprender junto con unos enlaces de vídeos que serán de utilidad para repasar los contenidos estudiados.

STRUCTURES
* Air is a mixture of different gases: nitrogen and oxygen. (El aire es una mezcla de diferentes gases: nitrógeno y oxígeno). * Air has no colour, no smell and no taste. (El aire no tiene color, ni olor, ni sabor). * Living things need air to breathe. (Los seres vivos necesitan airen para respirar).  * The atmosphere is the layer of gases that surrounds the Earth. (La atmósfera es la capa de aire que rodea la Tierra). * The troposphere is the lower layer of the atmosphere and it contains the air that we breathe.  (La troposfera es la capa más baja de la atmósfera y contiene el aire que respiramos). * The stratosphere is the upper layer of the atmosphere. It contains very little oxygen. (La estratosfera es la capa más alta de la atmósfera. Contiene poco oxígeno). * The elements of the weather are temperature (low, cold, high, hot); precipitation (rain, snow or hail) and wind (a breeze, a gale, a hurricane). (Los elementos del tiempo son la temperatura (baja, frío, alta, calor); precipitaciones (lluvia, nieve, granizo) y viento (brisa, vendaval, huracán).
